Silverload is a new Western based graphic adverture being developed by Vik Tokai for release on the Sony PlayStation. The story begins "somewhere in the West, deep in the desert" near a town named Silverload. This town which had once been a vibrant, silver boom-town, has now become liken to a ghost town, surrounded by perpetual storms which some say are the result of an Indian curse.

You play the part of a bounty hunter who has been hired to find a missing child. The parents who have hired you claim that their child has been kidnapped by "the monsters of Silverload". It is then in the town Silverload that you make your quest, and in Silverload where you discover a sinister evil.

Supporting the choice of joypad or mouse for game control, Silverload uses a simple Cursor Icon driven interface to allow the player interaction with the game environement. Conversations can be triggered in one of two ways, either by entering a location and having game characters talk with you, or by you selecting a character on the screen to talk with. Conversation is maintained via a list of suggested player-character comments at the bottom of the screen. The player can pick and choose from the suggested comments which in turn trigger various responses from the other character(s) involved in the conversation.

In addition to the standard graphic adventure interface for play, this game also features a 3-D gunslinger simulation. From time to time the player will become involved in gun fights, and at that time, the play area will change to a 3-D environment which depicts the current location. The player has the choice of a number of weapons and ammunitions (as acquired throughout the game), and play in this area lasts until either all enemy gunslingers are killed, or the player's energy is depleted.
