Crime Patrol -- American Laser Games

American Laser Games' Crime Patrol for the 3DO, is now available as part of the Gunslinger Collection. In this game you start out as a rookie cop fighting in a crime ridden town. Featuring play with light-gun, standard controller or mouse, either one or two-players simultaniously can take on the action.

This is the best in ALG's FMV target series. This one is quicker to get you back into the action after you get docked for killing innocents... DAMN! As with most FMV shooters, the main problems are: 1) boredom, and 2) the harder enemies come out shooting, which means that you have to be shooting before they appear or you die. This series is fun to play with a friend as I never tire of Salamander giving me that that funny look after I kill the dumb-ass idiot that always seems to pop up during the most hectic times and screams "don't shoot!"

Hey, this game is hillarious.... I mean really, really funny. It's the cinemas in this game that make it fun to play, and keep you coming back for more. Personally I would have to say this is my favorite ALG game for the 3DO hands down. Accuracy isn't all that bad with the gun, and I actually was able to keep a reasonable progression through the game (unlike some of the other titles like this). Graphics were pretty good, the full-screen, full-motion video is decent and pretty clean. Jumps from segment to segment flow well, and the overall production, while cheesy, is good. I'd have to say that if you're going to get a gun game, this one would have to be the one to get.
