Bangai-O -- Treasure/Crave

R.I.P.
I don't know why, but this game keeps making me think of a cross between Turrican, Thexder, and Time Pilots... weird. Bangai-O is a good shooter style game offering something different than the standard top-down/side-scrolling shooter action. As with most 2-D shooters, you fly around a shoot the crap out of everything... and I do mean everything... whew.

Explosions are satisfying, and playcontrol is good, but I found myself growing board with the game after a short time into play. My kids on the other hand have dedicated several weekends of play on the game and it is on their list of favorite shooters in the house.

While unique, if you're looking for the best shooter action on the Dreamcast, you should pick up Mars Matrix. If you're just looking for something different to pass the time, this game may do the trick. Of course, if you're a Treasure fan, this game will probably be on your must have list... that's what got me to buy the game. Well worth a casual play at the least.
