The Final Word game review
Become one of the famous X-Men in Sega's hot new 16-Bit title. Choose from Wolverine, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and more! Many levels, plus two player simultaneous play set this game apart from the rest.
X-Men was a disappointment. I had hoped for lots of action and some cool enemies, but neither were to be found. The action was thin with enemies few and far between. I quickly tired of the game and did not even care to play it all of the way through. The sound was very canned, and did not fit the game at all. Not only that, the character graphics when choosing characters were so small that the only way to choose a fighter was to guess by color! The X-Men logo deserved more.
This game is one of the few that should be called back and burned at the stake before even being tried. DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP FOR THIS GAME BECAUSE THEY WILL BE DASHED TO PIECES INSTANTLY. Right now I would say it is the name, X-Men that is selling this game. The graphics were so messed up that you could hardly recognize your character or the enemies on the screen. Horrid music along with sluggish control does NOT make this game a winner. I got very tired of this game very quickly. A true disappointment!
Well.. this game just didn't keep my attention too well. Play control left a lot to be desired, but the graphics were very nice. The other thing I didn't like was the cheesy sound effects and music. It was OK for a couple of plays, but I'd never buy this title. Oh, well, I had hoped for a lot more.
Oh, please. This game sucks. The graphics were really cool, but that was IT. The play control was awful, the storyline was weak, and, well... you get the picture. You couldn't even actually play all of the X-Men (Storm, Rouge, and several others amounted to little more than Smart Bombs). I like the X-Men (who doesn't?), but this game ranks about as high as 32oz. cups and 4-color toilet paper on the list of collectibles, and the title certainly does not stand on its own. I had hoped for more.
