Rayman -- UbiSoft

The Evil Mr. Dark has stolen the Great Protoon and scattered its orbiting Electoons across the land. It is your job to collect all of the Electoons, and with the ongoing help of Betilla the Fairy, regain the Great Protoon and return harmony to the world. Rayman is out now for the Atari Jaguar by UbiSoft.

Rayman has finally arrived and it is time to find out if all the hype surrounding it was justified. Rayman is definitely a beautiful game with: bright colors, a few layers of parallax, and character animations that drew a smile from me. The music, although pretty good, is not up to the quite up to the quality of the rest of the game. Rayman is an all-around excellent game, but dammit, what's with all the slowdown?!

R.I.P.
When I first saw this game, I thought it was a contender to be a selling point for the platform... but since the Saturn and PlayStation versions have come out, there really isn't any point in this one since the others are far better looking and sounding. If all you have is a Jaguar, I would have to say that this is probably the best platform game for the system. Graphics are clean and well done. Sound is good, and I really enjoyed the music. Play control is pretty good as well. A good game for a system that could have been much more.
