The Final Word game review
Criminals and psychopaths beware as Batman Returns comes to the Atari Lynx. Based on the hit movie, this side-scrolling action title pits you as the caped crusader himself, battling your way through four dark and devious levels of Gotham city. Batman must confront the Penguin, Catwoman, the Red Triangle Gang, and more in the ultimate challenge.
Batman Returns is definitely a graphically advanced game. Obviously this game was developed with the movie, as several scenes come straight from it. Sound is also excellent. Unfortunately, having only one life and no continues does distract from the fun of it. Worth a second look.
Batman Returns for the Lynx is a very good game graphically. The gameplay and control suits the game well. The story and scenes are straight from the movie. The one major drawback is that you only have one life and no continues. This game is very challenging and should be checked out before being bought if you already have a Lynx.
This title may just be the most challenging or at least the most potentially frustrating title for the Lynx that I've ever played. With no credits or continues, this game has the potential to drive you bonkers fast. Other than this possible problem, Batman Returns is a solid packed action title, and from what I've played of it so far, it looks like the game follows along with the movie in a number of ways. Good play control and excellent graphics also make this title a game worth checking out. Besides for a while now you can get this cart free when you buy a Lynx... Not a bad deal...
Holy Bataranges! This game is tough! Even though there are only four levels, with only one life and no continues, this title can be quite challenging. In addition, the levels are rather long, and your vitality is not refilled when you begin the next stage (ouch). Both the graphics and the sound are excellent; the backgrounds are straight from the movie. Worth taking a look-see.
