The Chessmaster 3-D -- Mindscape

Benjamin
This entire game can be summed up in one word: features, features, features. Players can choose a variety of opponents, pieces and set-ups to help their battle to be a more enjoyable experience. The major problem with this game, however, is the fact the game screen is cluttered up by all the icons you use to adjust all of those wonderful features. Although this is solved with one of the games best aspects - the ability to change the perspective by rotate the board a full 360-degrees. The cluttered set-up might also offer frustration when one is trying to select the option screen and inadvertently gets the control config instead. The polygon graphics do not push the limits of the PlayStation by any means, but are sufficient for chess fans - which is who this game is best suited for.
