Contra III, the Alien Wars -- Konami

Contra III, the Alien Wars, by Konami, is a gun slinging, brain bashing action title for play on the Super NES. The sinister Legions of the vile Red Falcon are at it again, and it's up to you to stop them. Armed to the teeth, both you and a friend can simultaneously blast your way through both side-scrolling and over-head excitment.

Ferrari Man
Contra III, the Alien Wars, is a solid, fast paced action game. Detail is paid very close attention to, and it shows. Like the other Contras, this one is pretty easy--but its "hard" mode presents a formidible challenge. Not a game that will wear out quickly. Excellent Mode 7 effects top the game off.

????
Definently worth buying for the SNES. The Mode 7 effects were used in an awesome way. One boss you fight in overhead view jumps into the air then scales down onto you. The airplane strafing the screen is awesome. Music is great and has to be listened to. Game play is good and challenge is great. It is reminiscint of the two previous games in the Contra series. Konami did almost as a good a job on this as they did on Castlevania IV.

R.I.P.
I'm glad to see that the Contra series has graduated to the SNES. Konami once again proves that they are a company to be reckoned with in this release. The use of Mode 7 effects are just dazzeling and the animation in general is super-fast! Also, I like the attention to detail that is constantly evident; for example, in the "easy" setting you just fight normal enemies, but on the "normal" and "hard" settings, parts of the background begin to attack you, such as the dogs in the first level. If you like action, if you like excitment, get Contra III.

Salamander
Contra III is fast paced, fun and exciting. This title is so action packed you can barely stop to breathe. While the "easy" setting is pretty simple, the higher difficulty levels provide more than formidible opposition. With the extensive use of the SNES's scaling and rotation abilities, the graphics are incredible. The soundtrack has bass so heavy you can feel the floor rumble. This game absolutely kicks!
