Super Mario All-Stars -- Nintendo

Mario and the gang get together again to bring their 8-bit adventures to the SNES. Super Mario All-Stars is classic Mario action at it's best. Play your old favorites along with new "Lost Levels" and rediscover a part of video game history.

Back when I first saw the Nintendo 8-bit, there were only two games that I played, Mario and Castlevania. I instantly fell in love and bought my own Nintendo with two games--Mario and Castlevania. Then after many years there was the release of the Super Nintendo system. Once I saw Castlevania I liked the game so much I went out and bought one. And now all of those original games I loved so much on the 8-bit are back--and MUCH improved. This has to be my favorite SNES game coming out, even over Mortal Kombat. The graphics and sound are awesome, as are the difficult Japanese "lost levels." The game plays just like the original, with stunning graphics and smooth sound. Now that these games are out there is no reason to stick with the old 8-bit... Congratulations Nintendo, you definitely did this one right--not to mention it is priced fairly cheaply too!

This collection of the Mario classics simply blew me away! I never thought I would ever play Super Mario 1, 2, or 3 ever again and really enjoy it. This is a great idea and should be done to a lot more of the 8-bit classics. Graphically this game was just awesome and made the game seem like it was brand new. The music was enhanced as well and was a major improvement over the original's calliope music. However gameplay was the one thing that wasn't changed. The longevity factor for this game is pretty good and makes the player want to solve all the games again so he can see how the levels were changed. Overall not that bad of a game, and worth buying. Enhancing the originals was an awesome idea.

R.I.P.
Yes! This cart took me totally by suprise. Great graphics, sounds, etc... Plus it is identical to the originals down to the programming bugs. What attention to detail. If you've ever loved playing Mario on the old 8-bit, this carts for you. I just hope this means that Nintendo will start reissuing more of its classics now. (The Ninja Gaiden trilogy, Metroid 1, and of course Sunsoft's Batman... please please please.)
