 The Final Word game review

Super Star Wars -- Lucas Arts Entertainment

The newest video rendition of one of the greatest movies of all time has arrived on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. With scenes and sound straight from the film, players must aid the rebel alliance in their quest to defeat Darth Vader and the evil galactic empire. Fight as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, or Chewbacca in this side-scrolling action title--and may the force be with you.

As the Dolby stereo darted around the room I thought that I was witnessing a promo for a new Star Wars movie soon to be released. After closer investigation I thought that my friend had rented the original movie. Only after real close investigation did it become clear that this is only a game. Needless to say this game's feel of the movie is absolutely unbelievable. The final level in the Death Star even out does the arcade. I won't waste your time reading about the game, just go out and try it... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Still reading... get a clue, go get it... .....NOW

Ahhhhh... Paradise? Almost. Super Star Wars is the closest movie to game translation that I have ever seen. Being a big Star Wars fan myself, I found this whole game a delight. The graphics are very good and fun to watch. The music and sound effects are... AWESOME! They are both straight from the movie and are perfectly orchestrated. The control of your character is good in the side view levels, but in the Landspeeder and the X-wing fighter it is perfect. This game is definitely difficult, but it doesn't get boring. Controlling Han Solo and Chewbacca was a nice touch. After solving this game I can't wait to see a sequel. OH! And don't forget that awesome continue screen!

R.I.P.
The next best thing to watching the movie is here. Yes, Super Star Wars captures the movie to a tee, and not only that, it plays all the movie's music while you play! The graphics are really great, the level of control can be quite demanding at times, but all-in-all this game is great. Just please, somebody shut up those Jawas!

Dude, way cool! This game was awesome. It not only captured the sound and scenes from the film, but it also captured its essence. This title was excellent. Two special thumbs up to the singularly ominous "Game Over" screen.
